Taiwanese Investors Say DHS Arbitrarily Denied EB-5 Visas
Law360 (March 23, 2018, 6:05 PM EDT) -- Ten Taiwanese investors who poured millions of dollars into a real estate development project in Florida sued the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in D.C. federal court Thursday, alleging the government unfairly determined the money wasn’t “at risk” and denied their investor visas under the EB-5 program.
The investors contend that the DHS erred in denying their petitions for the program because their individual $500,000 investments allegedly were not at risk because of a redemption option in their agreement with NFTC LP, according to the complaint.
