$19M Deal OK'd In Eating Disorder Action V. Horizon

By Pete Brush (May 22, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge has approved a settlement valued at more than $19 million, including over $1.2 million in reimbursements, between class plaintiffs and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey Inc. over the insurer's refusal to pay claims associated with eating disorders.

Judge Faith S. Hochberg of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on Thursday put her stamp on the settlement, which is likely to cost Horizon more than $17 million as it handles future claims.
