More Than Half Of GAO Protests Resolved In Under 30 Days

By Chuck Stanley (April 13, 2018, 6:24 PM EDT) -- More than 50 percent of bid protests on government contracts are resolved by the U.S. Government Accountability Office in less than a month and 75 percent are decided within 60 days, a senior management scientist for Rand Corp. said at a D.C. event on Friday.

Rand's Brian Persons, discussing the results from a broad-ranging report titled "Assessing Bid Protests of U.S. Department of Defense Procurements" at an event hosted by the Federal Circuit Bar Association, said cases that near the 100-day cap for GAO bid protest reviews are the exception rather than the rule.
