Calif. Class Wins Cert. In OT Suit Against Dollar Tree

Law360, New York (May 27, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has certified a class of California plaintiffs in a consolidated class action that accuses Dollar Tree Stores Inc. of improperly classifying certain workers as managers and denying them overtime pay.

Judge Samuel Conti's order, issued Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, turned aside Dollar Tree's arguments that the tasks performed by the plaintiffs were managerial in nature.
