Smith Pachter Gains Former Kirkland White Collar Atty In DC

Law360 (May 8, 2018, 2:03 PM EDT) -- Smith Pachter McWhorter PLC has hired from Kirkland & Ellis LLP a former federal prosecutor in the nation’s capital who as a litigator helped represent BP in its criminal settlement over the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Cormac T. Connor joined Smith Pachter McWhorter PLC as partner in its Washington, D.C., office on April 30 from the white collar group at Kirkland & Ellis. At Smith Pachter, Connor will continue representing clients in civil and criminal investigations before government agencies, which have included the Department of Justice, Office of Foreign Assets Control and Internal Revenue Service.
