Sun Sets On Solar Legislation In Texas

Law360, New York (June 1, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A bill that would have created a $500 million fund to subsidize solar energy in Texas will not become law this year, and other solar bills also failed as the state Legislature became bogged down in political maneuvering.

The Texas Legislature only meets once every two years unless there's a special session, meaning these bills will likely not come up for debate again until 2011, according to Luke Metzger, director of the environmental group Environment Texas.
