Suit Claims Teva's Wellbutrin Generic Is Inferior

Law360 (June 2, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The makers of a generic version of the antidepressant Wellbutrin XL are facing heat from a potential class of California customers who claim the generic, Budeprion XL, is less effective and more dangerous and are asking for their money back.

The lead plaintiff lodged the complaint in the Superior Court for the State of California in Los Angeles on Friday against Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd., Impax Laboratories Inc. and Anchen Pharmaceuticals Inc., who jointly make and sell Budeprion XL in the U.S.
