NLRB OKs Settlement In Starbucks Labor Dispute

Law360, New York (June 4, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The National Labor Relations Board has signed off on a deal that allows Starbucks Corp. baristas in Minneapolis to talk about improving their work conditions and other union-related matters while on the clock.

The NLRB on Tuesday approved the settlement to resolve claims brought by the Industrial Workers of the World that Starbucks managers in the city were trying to regulate the way employees discussed union issues and that certain stores were enforcing solicitation, distribution and posting policies differently.
