High Court Affirms Deadline For Qui Tam FCA Appeals

Law360, New York (June 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Relators have just 30 days to appeal judgments in False Claims Act lawsuits if the government has declined to participate, the U.S. Supreme Court said Monday.

In a unanimous decision penned by Justice Clarence Thomas, the high court said Monday that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit was right to hold five municipal employees to a 30-day time limit when they appealed the qui tam case they filed against New York City.
