Insurer Seeks Mediation In Lubrizol Cleanup Costs Suit

Law360, New York (June 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a dispute over coverage for Lubrizol Corp.'s share of a Texas Superfund cleanup, Security Insurance Co. of Hartford has asked to send the case to mediation, saying that Lubrizol's recent settlement with Lyondell Chemical Co. will aid in negotiations.

In a motion filed Monday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Security sought to enforce an earlier mediation order in the suit it filed against U.S. Fire Insurance Co. over chemical firm Lubrizol’s share of a Superfund cleanup at Texas' Turtle Bayou....
