Merck Appeals $26M Jury Verdict In First Vioxx Case

Law360, New York (September 22, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Merck & Co. said on Thursday that it is appealing the first jury verdict in the series of trials over the painkiller Vioxx. The plaintiff in the case won a $253 million award, later reduced to $26.1 million because of Texas caps on punitive damages.
