They manage risk by buying policies or by requiring a third party list their business as an additional insured under the third party’s policy.

However, recent court rulings and the insurance industry’s use of manuscript policies have blurred this picture and now, much like Alice in the Lewis Carroll novels, businesses find themselves in a new world where rules once commonly accepted have changed.
