UPS Seeks Approval Of $2.8M Deal In OT Suit

Law360, New York (June 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- United Parcel Service Inc. is seeking approval of a $2.75 million settlement that would resolve a putative class and collective action accusing the shipping giant of failing to pay certain workers the required premium rate for overtime hours, as well as neglecting to pay them for all the time they spent working.

UPS and named plaintiff Orin Cumberbatch on Monday filed a joint application for preliminary court approval of the deal in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
