GGP, Creditors Defend Ch. 11 Cases Against MetLife

Law360, New York (June 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- General Growth Properties Inc. and its unsecured creditors are claiming the company did not act in bad faith when its subsidiaries sought protection in bankruptcy court, disputing a bid from Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. to trim 10 cases from the real estate giant's Chapter 11 proceedings.

GGP and its official committee of unsecured creditors filed an opposition brief on Monday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
