Boston Jury Clears Markforged In 3D Printing Patent Trial

Law360, Boston (July 27, 2018, 8:55 PM EDT) -- A federal jury in Boston decided Friday that two patents held by a local businessman who left the board of one three-dimensional printing company to open a competitor were invalid, a verdict that was handed down just four months into litigation.

Desktop Metal Inc. CEO Ricardo Fulop lost the patent infringement claims he filed in March against Markforged Inc., one of several entities that were using certain methods of stabilizing 3D printers when Fulop claimed to have invented them in 2016.
