Exxon Reaches Rare Settlements In MTBE Litigation

Law360, New York (June 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Exxon Mobil Corp. has agreed to settle a pair of lawsuits in the multidistrict litigation over the gasoline additive methyl tertiary-butyl ether, but the vast majority of the cases against it are still pending.

According to orders signed Wednesday by Judge Shira A. Scheindlin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, all claims, counterclaims and cross-claims were dismissed with prejudice. The terms of the deals were undisclosed.
