Record Labels Win Permanent Ban On Madster

Law360, New York (June 18, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Ending eight years of drawn-out litigation, a swarm of record companies — including BMG Entertainment Inc., Interscope Records Inc. and Sony Music Entertainment Inc. — have won a permanent injunction against defunct file-sharing network Madster, formerly known as Aimster.

Judge Marvin Aspen of the U.S. District Court of Northern Illinois on Wednesday approved a joint motion for a permanent injunction and voluntary dismissal of the long-standing suit.
