LimeWire Alleges Cartel In RIAA Copyright Row

Law360 (September 26, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Major record labels are manipulating their own copyrights to form an illegal cartel and restrict competition in the market for online music distribution, according to a countersuit filed by file-sharing company LimeWire LLC.

The counterclaims were filed Sept. 25 against members of the Recording Industry Association of America, which sued LimeWire last month for "facilitating, encouraging and enticing" its customers to violate copyrights with its software.
