ZeniMax Sanctioned Over Docs In $500M Oculus IP Suit

Law360 (August 21, 2018, 6:59 PM EDT) -- In an order unsealed Monday, a Texas federal judge sanctioned ZeniMax Media Inc. for refusing to hand over documents during discovery in its $500 million suit against Oculus VR LLC, striking its request for $40 million in attorneys' fees from Oculus.

U.S. District Judge Ed Kinkeade wrote in the order that not only did ZeniMax flout at least two court orders, but that its president and main witness, Robert Altman — a licensed attorney — is to blame, noting that Altman's testimony indicated he knew of the documents the company refused to hand over and was present when the court demanded...
