GM Aims To Ax Chevy, GMC Defective Transmission Suit

Law360 (August 24, 2018, 6:18 PM EDT) -- General Motors LLC asked a Michigan federal court Thursday to dump an amended proposed class action alleging it sold certain Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon vehicles with defective transmissions, saying a Florida driver's thin allegations don't hold up and he cannot represent a nationwide class.

The Detroit auto giant filed a motion to dismiss an amended putative class action from plaintiff James McKee alleging GM defrauded consumers by knowingly selling hundreds of thousands of 2015 to 2017 model Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize trucks that contained defectively designed 6L50 transmissions.
