Cornell Housing Work Subpar, Unfinished, Contractor Says
Law360 (August 27, 2018, 4:43 PM EDT) -- A contractor hired to construct housing for Cornell University students before the start of the upcoming school year launched a lawsuit against one of its subcontractors in New York federal court Friday, alleging the company is on the hook for more than $1 million after performing subpar work and walking off the job.
LeChase Construction Services Inc. said Escobar Construction Inc. failed to meet its obligations under its subcontract, which provided that Escobar would perform certain drywall work for the construction of an 887-bed apartment and townhome facility, known as the Maplewood project, in Ithaca, New York.
