Pa. Panel Won't Revive Court Abuse Claims In Contract Row
By Matthew Santoni (September 11, 2018, 7:31 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania appeals court tossed a misuse-of-civil-process case Tuesday that had stemmed from a record contract negotiation and a thorny bramble of cross-claims and joinders among the lawyers involved.
The Superior Court panel upheld the Philadelphia trial court's summary judgments in favor of the lawyers who had been involved in litigating a recording contract between Marty Feierstein and the late guitarist Link Wray. When Feierstein sued his three lawyers after losing the case, they hired five attorneys of their own and filed cross-claims alleging that it had been Feierstein's wife, appellant Lauren Hope Kane, who botched the contract negotiation and litigation....
