VW Gets Several Claims Dropped In Suspension Defect Suit

Law360 (September 26, 2018, 7:53 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Wednesday dismissed multiple counts from a putative class action lawsuit against Volkswagen over an alleged suspension defect in its CC sedans, finding in several instances that the pleadings were insufficient to overcome limitations periods.

Volkswagen Group of America Inc. and its parent, Volkswagen AG, sought dismissal of 21 of the 29 counts in the amended complaint filed in August. Granting the automaker's motion in part, U.S. District Judge Robert N. Scola Jr. tossed 10 counts outright and trimmed individual plaintiffs from five others.
