Executive Arrested In Backdating Scandal

Law360, New York (September 27, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Former Comverse Technology Inc. executive Jacob "Kobi" Alexander was arrested in Namibia and will face an extradition request from the United States, where he is charged with stock-options backdating and slush fund schemes, federal prosecutors said Wednesday.

Alexander’s arrest follows a worldwide hunt for the executive, who previously was reported to have been tracked down in Sri Lanka by a private investigator hired by a U.S. venture capital fund seeking to keep Comverse’s stock price up.
