Eolas Investors Pull Funds After USPTO Patent Rejection

Law360, New York (March 10, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Investors in Eolas Technologies have withdrawn from the small company after a Microsoft attorney tipped off the media that the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office rejected the patent at the center of Eolas' $521 million lawsuit against the software giant.

In an e-mail to his private company's investors, Eolas founder Michael Doyle the company’s widely reported setback at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office was a "non-story" that Microsoft spun to its advantage, according to the Chicago Tribune.
