Century, R&Q Not Entitled To New Arbitration: Judge

Law360, New York (June 30, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Reinsurance providers Century Indemnity Co. and R&Q Reinsurance Co. are not entitled to a new arbitration panel in their dispute with Public Service Mutual Insurance Co. over coverage for an environmental claim, a federal judge has ruled.

Judge Harold Baer of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled Tuesday that the arbitration should continue with the original three panelists despite protests from the reinsurers, both formerly affiliated with Insurance Co. Of North America.
