C.R. Bard Agrees To Pay $20M To Settle Catheter Suit

Law360 (September 29, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Ending a five-year dispute, C.R. Bard Inc. agreed Thursday to pay $20 million to settle a lawsuit that it had infringed on patents for dialysis catheters.

Dr. Sakharam D. Mahurkar first filed the suit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in November 2001, alleging that Bard had infringed on his patents for a “simple double lumen catheter” and a “dual lumen catheter connecting system.”
