Freedom Mortgage OT Suit Deal Gets Preliminary OK In NJ

By Vince Sullivan (November 6, 2018, 9:32 PM EST) -- A New Jersey federal judge granted preliminary approval Tuesday to a proposed $4 million settlement of class claims against Freedom Mortgage Corp. filed by employees alleging the company deprived them of overtime pay for three years.

In an opinion issued by U.S. District Court Judge Robert B. Kugler, the court said the settlement could move forward to a February 2019 fairness hearing where Judge Kugler would consider final approval of the agreement between class members and the mortgage lending firm.
