Southern California Edison Hit With First Woolsey Fire Suit

Law360 (November 20, 2018, 7:02 PM EST) -- Attorneys for a coalition of residents who suffered property damage and losses from the Woolsey Fire that tore through Los Angeles and Ventura counties announced on Tuesday they had sued Southern California Edison in state court over its alleged role in starting the blaze.

The suit accused the energy company of failing to take precautions that would have prevented the "disturbance two minutes before the fire was first reported" at the company's substation. The complaint by Robin Perkins, Cliff Selbert and several others alleges the company should have acted based on a red flag warning issued by the National Weather Service...
