DVD Deal With Netflix Didn't Split Market: Wal-Mart

Law360, New York (July 14, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In response to a consolidated class action complaint, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has fessed up to entering a joint promotion agreement with Netflix Inc. in May 2005, but stopped short of saying the deal allocated the online DVD rental market.

On Monday, Netflix and Wal-Mart both answered an amended complaint filed by consumers alleging the companies conspired to divide the online DVD rental market, part of a multidistrict litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
