Qualcomm Loses Bid For Injunction

Law360 (October 3, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Suffering a setback in its battle with semiconductor maker Broadcom Corp., a district court Monday denied Qualcomm Inc.’s bid to prevent its rival from shipping processors Qualcomm claims use stolen trade secrets.

Qualcomm accused Broadcom of stealing more than 60 trade secrets related to chips that allow cell phone users to surf the Internet and listen to music. The company wanted Broadcom to stop selling its processors and stay away from related technological fields while the lawsuit proceeds.
