Truck Stops Seek Cert. In Fleet Card Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (July 20, 2009, 2:11 PM EDT) -- The lead plaintiffs have filed a motion for class certification in a suit accusing credit card company Comdata Corp. of monopolizing the market for trucker fleet payment cards, which provide special benefits to trucking companies.

The plaintiffs, five independent truck stops, filed the motion Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on behalf of all truck stops across the U.S. that paid percentage-based transaction fees on trucker fleet card purchases to Comdata or its affiliates since March 2003.
