Couple Found Guilty Of $1M Medicaid, Payroll Tax Scheme

Law360 (February 21, 2019, 8:29 PM EST) -- A Missouri federal jury has convicted the owners of several dental clinics for defrauding the government out of more than $1 million by submitting false claims to Medicaid for dentures and other services and failing to cough up payroll taxes, prosecutors said Thursday.

After about an hour and a half of deliberations, jurors on Wednesday found Pamela and Lorin Van Drie guilty on all of the charges detailed in a 40-count indictment accusing the married couple of fraudulently operating their three All About Smiles LLC dental clinics and another company that managed facility staff, according to the U.S. Department of Justice....
