Tweets Unlikely To Spell Musk's Removal As Tesla CEO

By Alison Noon (February 26, 2019, 9:38 PM EST) -- With one tweet, Elon Musk put himself at risk of being removed from the chief executive position at Tesla Inc., yet experts say the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is unlikely to make that move due to the potentially bad optics and possibility of a "meltdown" at the company and in the high-tech sector writ large.

Additionally, the commission's current political makeup and the availability of other avenues of punishment point to Musk's continued role at the helm of Tesla, where he has been the face of the brand, according to academics closely watching the case.
