Fla. Bar Opens Review Over Rep. Gaetz's Controversial Tweet

Law360 (February 27, 2019, 10:56 PM EST) -- U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz was not acting in his capacity as a lawyer when he directed what appeared to many as an intimidating tweet at Michael Cohen the night before President Trump's former attorney testified before Congress on Wednesday, but the Florida Republican will face an ethics review by the Florida Bar, which opened an inquiry in response to several complaints.

A spokeswoman said the bar opens an investigation “any time the words or actions of a Florida lawyer result in complaints,” and added that its staff will “vigorously pursue appropriate discipline” if it determines any rules have been violated....
