Online Bond-Auction Company Wins $38.4M

Law360 (October 5, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal jury in Pittsburgh has awarded $38.4 million to MuniAuction Inc., thus concluding a patent infringement lawsuit that was first brought more than five years ago.

After deliberating for about four hours on Thursday, the jury ruled that Thomson Financial and related company i-Deal had willfully infringed a MuniAuction patent that covers the online auction of municipal bonds.
