Japan Targets Qualcomm With Antitrust Order

Law360, New York (July 28, 2009, 4:51 PM EDT) -- Japan's Fair Trade Commission has sent a draft order to wireless chipset manufacturer Qualcomm Inc., accusing the company of unfair business practices in its patent-licensing agreements with Japanese companies.

Qualcomm allegedly used its dominant position in the marketplace to illegally pressure Japanese handset makers into unfair licensing agreements, the Associated Press reported Monday.
