Pathologist Says Monsanto Roundup Likely Caused Cancer

Law360 (March 6, 2019, 10:40 PM EST) -- A pathologist testified Wednesday during a California federal bellwether trial that it is "more likely than not" that Monsanto's Roundup weedkiller caused a man's cancer, refuting Monsanto's arguments the cancer was caused by the man's hepatitis C, weight and age.

During the second week of a jury trial in San Francisco, Dr. Dennis Weisenburger said plaintiff Ed Hardeman, 70, was treated for hepatitis C within a year of contracting it, and the early treatment significantly reduced his risk of developing non-Hodgkin lymphoma from the virus.
