Winklevoss Twins' Atty Fined $15K For Improper Behavior
By Reenat Sinay (March 6, 2019, 9:47 PM EST) -- An attorney for the Winklevoss brothers in their suit accusing bitcoin entrepreneur Charlie Shrem of stealing millions of dollars worth of cryptocurrency from them was personally ordered to pay $15,000 by a New York federal judge Wednesday for improperly coaching his clients during a deposition.
U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff sanctioned Tyler Meade of The Meade Firm PC in a last-minute hearing, and ordered an additional $15,000 in attorney fees to be paid by the Winklevosses for the wasted deposition, plus the cost of a new deposition, according to a transcript obtained by Law360.
