Truck Co.'s $12M Arbitration Win Upheld In Pension Fund Row

Law360 (March 7, 2019, 7:23 PM EST) -- A Maryland federal judge has backed an arbitrator's finding that a pension fund owed Penske Truck Leasing Co. more than $12 million in a yearslong feud between the parties, finding that the arbitrator didn't make any clear mistake.

In an order dated Wednesday but docketed Thursday, U.S. District Judge Richard D. Bennett affirmed an arbitrator's award that found the Freight Drivers and Helpers Local Union No. 557 Pension Fund had to reimburse Penske millions of dollars in withdrawal liability payments the company made in connection with a 2004 sale.
