GM Gets OK For Union Retiree Benefits Deal

Law360, New York (July 30, 2009, 3:47 PM EDT) -- A bankruptcy judge has signed off on a deal between General Motors Corp. and four unions over health care and pension benefits primarily for retirees.

Judge Robert E. Gerber of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York approved the four separate agreements with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and local chapters of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades of the United States and Canada and the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters....
