Bareburger's Critic Sues Chain Over 'Organic' Labeling

Law360 (March 22, 2019, 8:58 PM EDT) -- Bareburger was hit with a proposed class action in Brooklyn federal court on Friday by a frequent critic who accuses the hamburger chain of defrauding diners with its use of the "organic" label for products that include conventional ingredients.

Gil Rosenberg, a Queens man who has said his suspicions were raised when he saw beef being unloaded outside a Bareburger location that lacked the U.S. Department of Agriculture's organic seal, seeks to represent a class of consumers who say the restaurant chain tricked them. He wants upward of $5 million for the proposed class.
