Recruit Says 'Cultlike' Essential Oil Co. Is A Pyramid Scheme

Law360 (April 12, 2019, 8:43 PM EDT) -- A Texas woman sued multilevel marketing company Young Living Essential Oils on Friday, decrying it as "nothing more than a cultlike organization falsely peddling the ever-elusive promise of financial success and an alternative lifestyle."

Julie O'Shaughnessy's blistering complaint in Texas federal court alleges that Young Living recruits members such as herself with the promise that in exchange for regular monthly payments, they can make "spiritual and material riches" selling essential oils "for quasi-medicinal purposes."
