Colo. Law Expanding Oil, Gas Rules Gets Gov.'s Signature
Law360 (April 17, 2019, 6:19 PM EDT) -- Colorado Democratic Gov. Jared Polis on Tuesday signed off on sweeping changes to the way the state regulates oil and gas, enacting legislation that will require public health and environmental effects to be a consideration in approving new development.
Polis' signature on Senate Bill 181 changes Colorado's Oil and Gas Conservation Act to make it clear public health and the environment are the priority in the regulation of development, replacing language that suggested regulators must balance the need for new development with public health concerns.
