Mortgage Borrowers Push For Committee In Ditech Ch. 11

Law360 (April 22, 2019, 6:21 PM EDT) -- Three Chicago homeowners who said they were scammed into taking out reverse mortgages from a Ditech Holding Corp. subsidiary are asking for the appointment of a consumer committee to defend their rights in the mortgage company's Chapter 11.

In a letter to the U.S. trustee's office filed in New York bankruptcy court Friday, Barbara Herron, LeRon Harris and Reola Minter said they were concerned that Ditech subsidiary Reverse Mortgage Solutions Inc. has argued the Chapter 11 stay applies to their attempts to fight the foreclosure of what they say are reverse mortgages they were tricked into by a third-party fraudster....
