More Than 60 Firms Sign Houston Bar Gender Fairness Pledge

Law360 (April 23, 2019, 4:40 PM EDT) -- More than 60 law firms have signed on to the Houston Bar Association's Gender Fairness Commitment, making a pledge to increase the number of female partners and firm leaders by next year.

The firms that have pledged support range from small boutiques like Copeland & Rice LLP to multinational firms like Norton Rose Fulbright and Vinson & Elkins LLP. Signing the document isn't just a gesture, said HBA president Warren Harris. The pledge asks firms to demonstrate that they have increased the number of female partners and leaders after they sign on.
