Ex-Duane Morris Atty Cut Fisherman Out Of Venture, Suit Says

By Mike LaSusa (May 7, 2019, 10:26 PM EDT) -- A former partner at Duane Morris allegedly scammed a fisherman into firing his lawyer so the BigLaw attorney could wheedle his way into a squid-selling venture and cut the fisherman out of the business, according to a lawsuit filed Monday in California federal court.

Gerard "Jerry" Wetle, a longtime fisherman and licensed captain, sued Duane Morris LLP and the firm's former partner Zhaoyang "Paul" Li on Monday, alleging fraud, malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty.
