Licensing Co., RIM Drop $5M Suit Over Stones Phones

Law360, New York (August 12, 2009, 7:36 PM EDT) -- Research In Motion Ltd. and a California licensing company affiliated with the Rolling Stones have dropped claims against each other in a $5 million breach of contract suit accusing the Ontario-based communications giant of violating an agreement to use the band's intellectual property in branded devices.

Details of Monday's voluntary dismissals between plaintiff RST (2005) Inc. and the BlackBerry maker, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, were not immediately available, and parties to the case did not immediately return requests...
