ETC Seeks Quick Victory In InteliClear Trade Secrets Suit

Law360 (May 22, 2019, 6:54 PM EDT) -- ETC Global Holdings Inc. asked a California federal court on Tuesday for a quick win in a case brought by software maker InteliClear LLC, saying trade secret laws don't protect InteliClear's program, and even if they did, ETC didn't steal the product's features.

ETC, a brokerage and clearing services provider based in Los Angeles, told the court that InteliClear hadn't adequately specified which parts of its "InteliClear System" program qualify as trade secrets under state and federal law.

"Instead, InteliClear claims that its entire software product is a trade secret," ETC argued. "This is not plausible."
