Boston Police Officers Seek Class Cert. In Test Bias Suit

Law360 (May 22, 2019, 10:13 PM EDT) -- A group of more than two dozen Boston police officers are seeking class certification for the remedy stage of a case in which a Massachusetts federal judge ruled that a test for cops seeking a promotion violated anti-discrimination laws.

The police officers, all of whom are people of color who took the 2008 exam, want the court to certify them as a class for the remedy stage of the trial, arguing it wouldn't be feasible to suss out who would have been promoted if the exam had been fair.
